双方在中隔横网的球场两边以木板互相对拍羽球的一项球类运动。球场长12米，宽450～650米。网柱高165米，网中央离地面15米。球重4～6克，用三根白色羽毛插在圆状木托或橡皮托上。球拍木制，长35厘米，拍面宽17厘米。比赛方法与羽毛球相似，分单打和双打，男子为五局三胜，女子为三局二胜。单打每局15分，双打每局21分。
