清教徒
Puritan
十六﹑十七世纪英国基督教(新教)教徒(包括教士)中的一派。要求清洗教会中的繁琐仪式和天主教残馀影响,反对奢侈,标榜"俭朴清洁"的生活,因而得名◇亦以喻生活清苦严肃,严以律己的人。有时亦含贬义。
