It has an atrium that extends up through three floors

The lighting makes you feel like in a castle

光进得来，可是风进不来

The light can get in but the wind cannot

Sculptures, antiques, azure stones and ceramics

The master bedroom is on the first floor

I’m a grandfather now

跟孙女的关系既陌生又熟悉

I was both familiar and strange to my granddaughter

想说想办法要把孙女吸引过来

So I found a way to attract her here

qù nián jiù shè jì yī gè lè lè wū

去年就设计一个乐乐屋

I designed an amusement room last year

有些小朋友的一些设施

It has some kids’ facilities

Including a paddling pool

第二栋是宝盒

The second building is the Treasure Box

用很多的圆形柱子

I use a lot of columns

They stand there in a strewn way

yǔ huán jìng de yī zhǒng gòng shēng hé xié guān xì

与环境的一种共生和谐关系

Forming a harmonious symbiosis with the surrounding

dì sān dòng shì dǎo yǔ

第三栋是岛屿

The third building is the Island

yǐ zhāo dài wèi zhǔ

以招待为主

It was mainly for entertaining

hòu lái jué dìng zuò mín sù yǐ hòu

后来决定做民宿以后

Later I decided to renovate it into a homestay

bǎ liǎng rén fáng gǎi chéng sì rén fáng

把两人房改成四人房

And the double room was changed into a room for four

yòng mù tóu nuǎn sè xì de lái xiū shì

用木头、暖色系的来修饰

I use wooden and warm-color decorations

lìng wài yī dòng shì zuò měi shù guǎn shǐ yòng

另外一栋是做美术馆使用

The rest one is used as gallery

gè zhǒng xíng shì de yì shù pǐn wǒ dōu huì shōu cáng

各种形式的艺术品我都会收藏

I collect art works in various forms

hěn zì yǐ wèi shì de

很自以为是的

I was self-righteous

wǒ yī zhí hěn zhǔ guān dì rèn wèi yì shù jiā suǒ dé hěn gāo

我一直很主观地认为艺术家所得很高

I had believed that artists earned big money

kě shì yǒu yī tiān wǒ fā xiàn zhè gēn wǒ xiǎng xiàng zhōng de wán quán bù yī yàng

可是有一天我发现这跟我想像中的完全不一样

But one day I found the imagination was totally different than the reality

tōng cháng yì shù jiā guò de rì zi dōu hěn qīng kǔ

通常艺术家过的日子都很清苦

Usually artists live in poverty

wǒ jiù xiǎng shuō wú cháng tí gōng chǎng dì

我就想说无偿提供（场地）

So I want to offer them a place

ràng tā men zuò zhǎn lǎn

让他们做展览

To exhibit their works free of charge

yǐ huà wèi zhǔ diāo sù chuàng zuò yě yǒu

以画为主，雕塑创作也有

The exhibits include mainly paintings, and some sculptures as well

之前的原地主

The former landlord

yīn wèi zhǒng yī xiē shuǐ guǒ

因为种一些水果

He grew fruits here

dà liàng dì shǐ yòng nóng yào huà féi gēn chú cǎo jì

大量地使用农药化肥跟除草剂

He used a large amount of pesticide, chemical fertilizer and herbicide

zhěng kuài tǔ dì tā jiù huāng fèi

整块土地它就荒废

And the whole land lay waste

wǒ huā hěn zhǎng shí jiān

我花很长时间

I spent a long time to restore it

wǒ zhǒng guāng là shù

我种光蜡树

I grew evergreen ash trees

jiù kě yǐ xī yǐn dú jiǎo xiān

就可以吸引独角仙

So that rhinoceros beetles were attracted

xī yǐn bān dié

吸引斑蝶

And Ursula butterfly as well

yǒu yī tiān wǒ fā xiàn shēng tài huí lái le

有一天我发现生态回来了

One day I found the nature returned

yě huā shàng miàn bù mǎn dà liàng de hú dié

野花上面布满大量的蝴蝶

Butterflies danced in flowers

zuì dà hú dié dà gài bǐ wǒ de shǒu zhǎng hái dà

最大蝴蝶大概比我的手掌还大

The biggest butterfly was even larger than my palm

nà yī shā nà wǒ hěn gǎn dòng

那一刹那我很感动

I was touched at that moment

shēng huó zài tái běi

生活在台北

I used to live in Taipei

tǎn bái jiǎng wǒ yǒu zhuàn dào qián

坦白讲我有赚到钱

To be honest, I made some money

可是我不快乐

But I was unhappy

朋友来看到我挥汗如雨在那边拔草

When friends come to visit, they see me sweating and pulling up weeds

他们觉得很奇怪

They are confused

duì wǒ lái jiǎng nà shì wǒ hěn kāi xīn de shì qíng

对我来讲那是我很开心的事情

But for me that’s a delightful thing to do

dāng kè rén lái kàn jiàn zhù kàn shè jì

当客人来看建筑看设计

When guests come to see the building and the design

lái wǒ yuán qū de dōu néng gòu dé dào zuì dà mǎn yì de shí hòu

来我园区的都能够得到最大满意的时候

If they feel satisfied in my villa

wǒ jué dé shì zhí dé le

我觉得是值得了

Then I think it’s worthwhile
