那我们在拍照的时候呢

尤其拍人像，一定要注意找一个光比合适的地方

你看到没有

现在的相机，都是微单

nǐ zhào piàn suǒ jiàn jiàn suǒ dé jiù kě yǐ xiǎn shì hòu miàn nà xiē qǔ jǐng qì lǐ biān

你照片所见见所得，就可以显示后面那些取景器里边

xiàng xiàn zài zhè gè chǎng jǐng dà miàn jī bái sè

像现在这个场景大面积白色

你一定要用曝光补偿键

bǎ zhè zhāng zhào piàn bái jiā hēi diǎn pù guāng yào jiā yī dàng

把这张照片白加黑点曝光要加一档

否则照片看起来整个灰灰的

照片，曝光不正却，你的颜色就不会太鲜艳

曝光加了一档以后，你会发现整个模特肤色

前面的装束的颜色

环境光线去还原

It's the basic requirement to a beginner

to get a acceptable picture straight out of camera

In fact, first-class photographers also want the SOOC photos to look great

So today let's talk about

how to get satisfactory photos without post processing

The cameras used today are: Canon EOS R,

Fujifilm X-T3

and Sony A7III as comparison

Especially these two, Fuji and Canon

are famous for good skin tone and easy post processing

Modern technologies make life easier

Modern cameras are easier and easier to operate

It's enjoyable to hear the the camera clicks

Then you gotta do some post processing to make photos look better

But not everyone wants to learn or spend time on the softwares

Basically, if you can share the photos using your phone directly, why bothering using a computer to do retouching

Luckily most cameras nowadays have WiFi function built in

You can send photos to your phone easily

and then share to your social network

If your photos can be shared SOOC, that will be nice.

so it seems good SOOC photo quality is becoming more important

Talking about the relationship between photo shooting and post processing

in my opinion, a good original photo is the basis

post processing is like the icing on the cake.

It's just like cooking

Getting some fresh raw materials is the most important

Then no matter how you cook the raw material, like frying or baking, making it heavily salted/spiced or delicate

It's all about your personal preference

The fresher the ingredients are,

the easier it is to process the ingredients

you can keep the original fresh taste of the ingredients (English speakers I am not sure if you can understand the Chinese way of metaphor lol)

For example, hairy crabs can be simply steamed and delivered to diners.

Salmon can even be eaten raw

On the contrary, for some other foods like the crayfish and river snail

you need to cook them with lots of spice and seasoning to mask the earthy taste

So by this metaphor you can understand that

the original photo is so important to your final image

I've never seem a photographer shooting terrible original photos then solely count on post processing to make them look good

Even when you are shooting the simplest theme

You still need to try to make the original photos look great

Among Chinese photography enthusiasts there is a famous saying

"Only idiots shoot photos without doing post processing"

This saying makes sense to some extent

but I want to say that if you only count on post processing but your original images are all bad

you are even dumber

Imaging if you shoot hundreds of photos, how can you retouch all of them one by one.

We surely want our cameras give us beautiful SOOC photos

But we got to face the reality that

different cameras use different processors

CMOS's are also different

Besides, color science standard varies

As a result, even if you shoot the same thing in the same environment with the same settings

different cameras can still give you photos that look totally different

Among all of the brands like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic.......

It is generally acknowledged that Fuji and Canon have the best color science

They both have large amount of followers because of excellent color

I am one of the followers.

When we perceive the colors

we are likely to be sensitive to the skin tone

So let's see which camera has the best skin tone SOOC

Today we are going to do the most popular genre:

Portrait

“It's not hard to shoot, but the most part is I need to shoot from exactly the same angle with you”

“Especially when you are my student”

What the hell are you shooting lol

To get good SOOC photos there are 3 essential factors

First of all is light

The light source is the most important thing

When we shoot environmental portrait we need to remember to avoid high contrast scenes

Here where the model stands

there is direct sunlight

it may look not bad by our naked eyes

but actually cameras doesn't have such high dynamic range to handle the contrast

So you can see dark shadow and light spot on model's face

No matter how you try, you will not be able fix that in post processing

You need to turn up exposure compensation by one stop

without appropriate exposure, your photo won't look vivid

With the exposure compensation, you can see the skin tone and environment will become brighter and more vivid

try to find scenes where contrast is not so high

We found Canon's color is really nice indeed

The new EOS R seems to have the better color than the flagship 1DX Mark2

So that's why most wedding photographers and portrait photographers use Canon

The SOOC color is too great

And I recommend you use a function on Fuji: film simulation bracket

Talking about Sony, it's SOOC color is not bad actually

But when making comparison with Canon or Fuji, you can see the difference

especially it's color gradient is not so natural and smooth

But A7 users don't feel upset, let me tell you a trick

There is HDR function on A7III

This HDR function is really a life saver for all A7III users

HDR function can not only be enabled on video

it can also be enabled on photos, which is different to Canon

On Canon HDR can only be enabled on videos, not photos

So here is the trick

In our PP settings (Picture profile)

On PP1 set Gamma to HLG1

Use auto white balance

and BT.2020 color space

Then you can get very fair and smooth color which is very close to Canon or Fuji
