EXAMPLE SENTENCES

She put down the pen on the top of the pad.

He soaked himself in the subject before daring to write about it.

Bitter constraint and sad occasion are forcing him to write.

There is even a Chinese word for it: “tibiwangzi”, or “take pen, forget character”.

One general message which cannot be overstated is that we must think before we write - not just think of how we are to express ourselves, but think first of what exactly it is that we wish to express.
