神女

谓巫山神女。《文选．宋玉序》"昔者先王尝游高唐，怠而昼寝，梦见一妇人曰'妾，巫山之女也。'"李善注引《襄阳耆旧传》"赤帝女曰姚姬(一作'瑶姬')，未行而卒，葬于巫山之阳，故曰巫山之女。楚怀王游于高唐，昼寝梦见与神遇，自称是巫山之女。"又《神女赋》序"楚襄王与宋玉游于云梦之浦，使玉赋高唐之事，其夜王寝，果梦与神女遇，其状甚丽，王异之，明日以白玉。"按，所云神女之梦，事本假托，为寓言讽主之作。
谓妓女。因宋玉《高唐赋》中有"妾，巫山之女也，为高唐之客，闻君游高唐，愿荐枕席"之语，后因以借指妓女。
泛指仙女。
