〈名〉❶简单机械，是一个在力的作用下能绕着固定点转动的杆。绕着转动的固定点叫支点，动力的作用点叫动力点，阻力的作用点叫阻力点。改变三点的两段距离的比率，可以改变力的大小。如剪刀（支点在中间）、铡刀（阻力点在中间）、镊子（动力点在中间）等就属于这一类。❷比喻起平衡或调控作用的事物或力量：经济～｜发挥金融机构在经济发展中的～作用。
