地盘
帝国主义国家强迫旧中国在通商口岸划出一块作为外侨居留和经商的地盘。鸦片战争后，英国通过《上海租地章程》取得第一个租界；其他国家也先后在中国划界租地，筑路建屋，并实行殖民地制度，使租界变成国中之国”，成为它们进行侵略的活动据点。租界有一国管理的(如汉口英租界)，也有多国共管的(如上海公共租界，由英美共管)。新中国成立后，租界制度被取消。
