中国长篇小说的传统形式之一。盛行于明、清两代。全书分回标目，故事连接。宋代话本《大唐三藏取经诗话》已具雏形。明、清时代章回小说的代表作有《三国演义》、《水浒传》、《西游记》、《红楼梦》等。现代长篇小说也有采用章回小说形式的，如《吕梁英雄传》等。
