①阐述义理并加以引申文不能演义，武不能死君。②旧时长篇小说的一种。一般根据历史传纪铺叙引申，并经过作者的艺术加工而成。由讲史话本发展而来，盛行于明、清时期。著名的有《三国演义》、《隋唐演义》等。
